Yep...just wondering which way it will turn. A certain local team added a good QB and 2 RBs from a TN school in 2004, and 2 of em actually made the team worse.

A good team with play-off hopes could bet a lot on a transfer. </div></div>
Trust me, Coach Adams will get clearance from everybody he has too and then some before Malcom steps on the the field on a friday night. He won't take that risk.
Sir, if Pinkston sets his mind to playing he'll be explosive. To me, this is the young mans last opportunity, if he screws this up his footall career is over. Regardless of what school you root for you have to hope the guy performs well. From a coaching standpoint I'm somewhat surprised at Coach Adams taking this risk, it also signals to me that he is somewhat concerned with his current team. Do you see Pinkston (under these circumstances) being allowed on the 2006 team at John I Burton? This is a very interesting situation and one that could turn out very much like T.O. to the Cowboys did or Randy Moss to the Raiders. With the caliber of team the Raiders have without Pinkston I wouldn't take the risk. With him now on the team where does he play? John I Burton, traditionally has played two wings and big fullback. Does Coach Adams change his strategy on offense to fit him? I personally, would not move Coleman or Miles to accomadate him. Thus, forcing Pinkston to play defense, and then where does he play? He's not playing over Godsey. The situation is a big mess, and I personally just hope it does not mess with the team unity and chemistry that has carried John I Burton to the recent success. What I also find intriguing is the fact that nobody has talked about the impact this has on the LPD Basketball Season as well. Malcolm wasn't going to be playing basketball at Powell Valley either, will Stan allow him? If so, he could be a force, especially on defense, a dedicated Malcolm Pinkston could make the Raiders the favorites to win the region in football and contend for the region in basketball. A Malcolm Pinkston with issues could turn John I Burton into what we've seen out of Powell Valley since 2005, the potential to beat anybody and the potential to lose to anybody.
While some people are critical of transfers, I don't personally have a problem with them if it benefits both the student and the team accepting him. Only time will tell if this is the case here.
I've seen some instances in the past couple of years where transfers have been positive. Probably one of the best examples I can think of would be Justin Wilson's transfer to JJK. He ended up being an impact player in basketball and a key player in their 2008 state baseball championship.
The Odle sisters transferring to Gate City also proved to be very good in that they had an opportunity to play on a state championship basketball team which probably would not have happened otherwise.
Sir, the major difference here compared to the other two examples is the fact they those student athletes transferred out of their own free will. Pinkston has to transfer if he wants to play. Huge difference in my opinion. After the article in the paper where Robbins was quoted in pretty much throwing last years seniors and Malcom under the bus it says a lot. PV has always had some hot heads or trouble makers in the program but that speaks volumes in my opinion.
It seems as though there's a lot of speculation about the circumstances here. I honestly don't know why or how it came about. For the most part, the reasons seem to be personal and should probably be left at that.
If Pinkston does in fact play for JIB, it could be a huge boost to their team or it could be detrimental to the team if conflicts arise. I'd say just wait and see what happens. Regardless, the 2008 football season just got a lot more interesting.

I said in my post that they will solidify the REP that FOLKS have hung on them for years. Nowhere did I state that I thought that this was shady. Learn to read. Folks from around the LPD have said that about J.I.B for years, especially when Miles had reportedly bombed every class he had,yet quickly "got eligible" for the season .
As for the transfer that we had, you'd be upset too if your best athlete transferred. Take a look around the LPD: Pound could field a quality squad with all the kids that have bolted as of late. If it is legit,it is legit, and I have no gripe. We've had some kids help us over the years, and we've had a slew leave Wise and play against us.
I do not blame kids leaving Kelly. They are no good and if it was up 2 me, i wouldn't play 4 them either! i actually wanna win games
Good lord, you can tell it is football season and everybody is coming out of the woodworks.
